Food production is South Africa's largest manufacturing sector. South Africa produces a wide variety of crops and has a substantial number of secondary food processing industries.Fresh fruit is the largest export followed by sugar, processed vegetables and fruit, fish products, alcoholic products, cerials and grain. South Africa also produces specialised products such as rooibos and honeybush tea which is marketed internationally.
